ABOUT
Founded in 1980, Cherhill Village Theatre (CVT) has been a vibrant hub for community-based amateur dramatics, welcoming people of all ages and abilities to get involved. With a focus on creating opportunities for local talent, our members range from those just starting their acting journey to seasoned performers, with many of our long-time members having grown up on stage—from playing ladybirds or teddy bears to now starring as Beauty or the Pantomime Dame!
Known far and wide for our annual pantomime, which brightens the dark winter months with performances every January, CVT has delighted audiences with a diverse range of productions over the years. From classic pantomimes like Cinderella and Mother Goose to more eccentric fare like Bun Fight at the OK Corral and May The Farce Be With You, we’re always ready to entertain with something a little different.
But it’s not all about the panto! CVT has staged a variety of productions, including dramatic plays, one-night revues, a children’s production of Bugsy Malone, and even an outdoor performance of Toad of the Manor. We’ve also made our mark on BBC’s Countryfile, showcasing the quirky story of the "naked highwaymen" of Cherhill in 2011. Most recently, we hosted a successful Variety Show, featuring an exciting mix of music, comedy, and non-stop entertainment across two stages.
We are always on the lookout for new talent! Whether you have a passion for acting, singing, painting, costume design and dressmaking, or simply want to help behind the scenes (or make the tea!), everyone is welcome to join our community. Membership is open to all adults who live in or around Cherhill, and to children over the age of eight who either live in the village or attend Cherhill Primary School.
Come join the fun and become part of our creative family—there’s something for everyone at Cherhill Village Theatre!
